Diana Anne-Marie Lalor

Owner & Community Advocate

"This project is deeply personal. As a clinical instructor specializing in nursing pracitices for over 25 years, my life's work has been about caring for people and fostering well-being. It has been heartbreaking to watch the soul of Little Jamaica suffer under years of construction. This building is more than an investment for me; it's my promise to reinvest in the community, to stand with our local businesses, and to help rebuild the vibrant neighbourhood that has been so deeply harmed."

The Soul of the City: Little Jamaica

Eglinton West is a cultural landmark. Known as Little Jamaica, this area has been the heart of Toronto's Caribbean community for decades—a place of vibrant music, incredible food, and resilient spirit.

A Rich History

From the 1950s, Eglinton West became a hub for Jamaican and Caribbean immigrants. It blossomed with reggae record shops, barbershops, and restaurants that became institutions, shaping the city's cultural identity.

Resilience Against Disruption

For over a decade, this community has endured the devastating impact of the Eglinton Crosstown LRT construction. Promised as progress, the project has crippled dozens of local businesses, tested the community's spirit, and threatened its very identity. Choosing to invest here is a stand for its preservation and recovery.
